Panthers vs. Fighting Seahorses

The Charles City Panthers rallied in the 3rd quarter but the Christchurch Fighting Seahorses pulled away in the 4th quarter and won the game by a margin of 22 points. Charles City faced a much larger Christchurch team that has 20 players that are at least 6 feet tall. The Panthers only have 4 players that are 6 feet or taller. Christchurch is a private school located in the northern neck region of the state, in Middlesex County.

The score was Christchuch 14, Charles City 0 at the half.

Christchuch added another touchdown in the 3rd quarter. Charles City player Trevor Jones was playing Quarterback in the 3rd quarter when he through the ball deep downfield. The ball was deflected but fell right into the arms of Avery Jones in the end zone. Less than a minute later, Charles City was on defense when Avery Jones stripped the ball from a Christchurch running back and took it back the other way for a TD. After Dominick Barbour converted the extra point run, Charles City had cut the lead to 7. However, Christchurch pulled away in the 4th quarter by adding two more touchdowns.

Christchurch Quarterback Taylor Byrd played exceptionally well when throwing the ball, as he connected on 12 of his 14 passes with two TDs through the air.

Panther Terrance Banks had two interceptions in the game.

Charles City is now 2-2 and Christchurch goes to 4-1.
